Why is my cat leaving blood spots on my bed with no visible wound?

Check all orifice of the body to find out where the blood is coming from. Check his paws for cuts or other injuries. Your cat should not be bleeding. He could be suffering from bad teeth, bleeding abscesses or ulcers in the mouth, an intestinal problem, an infected anal gland or a urethral obstruction. If you find that the blood is coming from a small injury on a paw, clean the wound and observe whether the bleeding stops. If not, you can put a bit of cotton wool on the wound and leave it there, this helps coagulation. If the wound is large it needs to be seen by a vet. If you find that he is losing blood from his anus or penis, then he needs to be seen at a pet ER tonight as he may have a blocked urethra or a bleeding colon or rectum and will need prescription antibiotics or be unblocked if the urethra is blocked. Should he be bleeding from his mouth or have a painful mouth, he will need to be seen by a vet ASAP as these lesions in the mouth are very painful and could possibly keep him from eating and drinking properly. He may also need a dental cleaning and removal of the offending teeth. Sorry I cannot be more specific as I do not know where your kitty is bleeding from.

She needs to be seen by a a vet. That is very red blood drops. It is either coming from the bladder and out her vulva or from the rectum. The only other option would be from an injury on her body somewhere. If she won't let you look I'm sure the vet can examine her. Since this has been going on for 3 days I would consider this pretty serious.

Blood drops from flea poop would be very very tiny. Blood drops from a UTI would be b igger, but you would likely see them in the cat litter as well and your kitty would like make a fuss in the box, going frequently but only producing little urine every time. Your kitty could also have a bleeding mouth ulcer, bad gingivitis or teeth, lost a canine tooth and it is now bleeding, or could be bleeding from the nose. I suggest you have a look in her mouth, (gently). If she lost a tooth,, you likely will not have to do anything unless it broke off. If you see sores, or your kitty has a bad smell from her mouth, you need to take her to the vet for an exam. If she appears to have a UTI, then she needs to be examined by a vet also.

If she’s coming into heat she will be acting differently. Lots of meowing, rolling around and acting wild. She may try to go out to get bred. If you don’t see that behavior I would check her all over to see if you can find a wound. I’m not overly concerned about this as long as it was only a few drops and it doesn’t continue. I do think it would be a good idea to see the vet but it can sometimes be very difficult to find the source of the blood in a situation like this. A sneeze is possible but you would probably also see some nasal discharge. If it is from urine I would expect that a cat would be visiting the litter box frequently or straining to urinate. Toenails and ears can also bleed if they are injured. Since blood in the urine in particular can be very serious I'd recommend seeing a vet sooner rather than later even if both cats seem fine otherwise.

It is possible that James has a small wound in between his toes or affecting one of his nails. It can sometimes be quite difficult to find a wound due the fur and often uncooperative nature of cats. It is also possible that James had a wound that has since closed, but there is dried blood residue on his fur that becomes more apparent when in the moist environment of the sink. If James begins favoring a paw or licking at a particular area, I would recommend that he is seen by a veterinarian. I would also monitor closely for any signs of other discharge or swelling associated with any of his paws.

It's possible that these could be blood spots, but you are also correct that it could be due to her constantly licking her bed. It would be a good idea to have Bella checked out by a vet to be safe. She could have a UTI and is dripping some blood and urine leading to these spots, or it may have been a small wound. It never hurts to have a health check with the vet when you find something out of the ordinary. I hope this helps!
