My cat is bleeding from mouth after painkiller. Is it an emergency?

I would recommend that Emi be evaluated by a vet immediately. Bleeding from the mouth is never normal. It can be caused by a wound, ulceration, internal damage from trauma, bleeding or clotting disorders, among a few other things. I am not sure what could cause the issues in her front legs, but it could be caused by neurologic disease, trauma, or extreme lethargy. If the pain medication was not specifically prescribed for Emi, I would not recommend giving it to her. Some pet prescription pain medications can make intestinal bleeding much worse. There are no safe OTC human pain medications that are safe in cats.

OH my. I am not sure where she is bleeding from, but a coagulation disorder or bleeding disorder is likely the cause of her illness. A toxin ingestion or immune mediated condition is typically the cause for bleeding disorders in pets. I would highly recommend taking Miaw in to your local vet right away for treatment! I would definitely take her to the vet as soon as possible. If she is breathing heavily then this could be a medical emergency. Your vet will be able to listen to her and possible do X-rays. They will be able to provide oxygen if needed. I hope this helps!

Whisker does sound like he's in pain, and I'm concerned about the blood dripping and pain in the hind end. He could have bladder stones causing the blood (if it's coming from his penis), and bladder stones can block the urethra, which is fatal without treatment. I think he sounds so poorly that he needs to see a vet now. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies.
