My cat just had kittens and is bleeding. Is this normal discharge?

My cat gave birth three days ago and today she is bleeding from her vagina. The blood will stop for 1 minute and then it would spuu out. Is this a sign of hemorrhage? Please help me

This is probably normal lochia discharge that you will see as vaginal discharge for several week post-queening. If she is eating well, the kittens are nursing, and all the nipples have normal milk discharge, she is probably fine. If Princess stops eating, or has vomiting or diarrhea, or seems weak, or has signs of swollen nipples and mastitis, she needs to see a vet right away. Hope that helps!

If she still has a kitten inside it is likely dead and starting to disintegrate. This could make Jackie very sick and can possibly be life threatening. Please take Jackie to your vet for an exam. Your vet can check for a retained kitten, and help with either the birth of that kitten or removal. If there is no kitten there may be an injury or infection which need to be treated. The "bleeding" may be normal lochiae (cleaning out after giving birth). So a check up at the vet's is definitely recommended. Take her with the kittens, so she does not get distressed without kittens,

Hi there. It is normal to have minor discharge post birth, but if it seems excessive, she would need to see a veterinarian right away. Watch for weakness, pale gums, decreased appetite, and any foul odor to the discharge.

This is very common. She may continue to have a mild mucous bloody discharge for a few days. If she stops eating or drinking or is profusely bleeding, then you will want to try to take her to the vet to ensure everything is okay. I hope this helps.

You can see some bleeding after giving birth, that is normal, but without seeing her in person, I can't say if it's normal or not for sure I'd be concerned she may have more kittens yet to be born. Have her seen by a vet immediately. As for the milk, yes it's normal to still have milk there.

A certain amount of bloody discharge is normal after delivery. This can last days to weeks. If it is frank blood, Diamond should be examined by your veterinarian or at the nearest veterinary ER today. Check the color of her gums. They should be pink. If they appear pale, take her to the veterinarian immediately. Keep her warm and as stress free as possible until she sees the vet.

Is my cat's post-birth bleeding and kittens' yellow poop normal?

Bleeding for up to 48 hours post-labor is normal in cats, and should lessen over that 48 hour period. However, if you are seeing signs of illness or the discharge is not decreasing over time, it is best to seek vet care to rule out any more serious issues causing it. Yellow stuff out of the kitten's bottom is likely their first stool called the meconium, and is usually passed after they are born and start to nurse. This is normal, and the momma cat should clean it and herself up. However if she needs help, a warm wet washcloth can be used to help keep mom and babies clean. Again, if you see any signs of illness, the babies don't seem to want to nurse, are weak, or aren't growing, or the mother seems ill, a vet exam is always best.

My 8-month-old cat had one kitten and is bleeding. Is this normal?

Blood is not normally seen in the birthing process and usually indicates that there is a complication. While it's possible that she only has one kitten, it's also possible that she has more inside. I recommend taking her to the vet for an evaluation as soon as possible. They can keep things from getting worse and check for any other kittens. I hope that helps and all is well with Baby.
