My cat has a black-headed bump on its head. Should I be worried?

Without being able to examine Willow, it is hard to say what it is or if you should be worried about it. In a young kitten, trauma would be the most likely. However, a small bump could also indicate infection or even a small tumor. I would continue to observe Willow for a day or two. If the bump goes away, then I wouldn't be worried, but if it is still there, growing, or she is developing other symptoms, then she should be examined by a veterinarian.

It is nice of you to check up on your fiance's cat. This bump doesn't seem alarming to me. It is small, the same color as the rest of the skin, and doesn't seem to bother Shadow. I would recommend keeping an eye on this small bump for the next week or two to see if it goes down gradually on its own. If it doesn't or seems to grow or bother Shadow, then you should consider getting it tested through your vet to make sure it isn't something to be concerned about. The only thing you can do is place an e-collar on him if he does start to scratch at it. Otherwise it's best to just leave it be. I wish you all the best with Shadow. This could be a pustule which is a local bacterial infection or even a small cyst. If it is just one it may go away on its own. But if there are multiple, this one becomes larger or seems painful your cat may need medication from your veterinarian.

It looks like she make have gotten a small wound on her head, maybe from getting swatted by another cat. Cat claws and bites tend to make wounds with small holes that seal over and trap bacteria inside. This will form a small abscess which will then rupture, which is what this appears to be to me. Keep an eye on it and keep it clean with a washcloth, warm water and a mild soap. Clean it two or three times a day and make sure to get all the soap off or it will irritate her skin. As long as it continues to improve and she is acting fine, eating and drinking, she should be fine. If it closes up again, swells, gets really red, hot, or if she starts acting sick or loses her appetite, get her in to see you vet as soon as possible as she may then need antibiotics to clear up the infection and heal.

Please understand that it's impossible to say what this lesion is with 100% certainty without examining cells from this lesion microscopically. With that said, Tigra's lesion looks as though it could be a cyst. Most cysts are benign lesions. Many rupture and some refill at a later date, but they won't go away completely on their own. It would be best to have Tigra examined by her vet within the next month or so, or sooner if it's changing dramatically or bothering her. Until her appointment, keep a close eye on it for changes, but don't worry about applying any topical medications.

The black raised area could be a tumor, but all the other little ulcerative areas look like she might have a skin infection. I would highly encourage you to have her evaluated by your veterinarian soon. They may recommend removal of the black mass for biopsy. She may need antibiotics as well. These generally are find to just keep an eye on but if you would like it gone, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine the mass and discuss options for removal.
