Why does my cat have a new red and white bump on her swollen lip?

Any lumps/bumps that you notice on your pet should be checked out by your vet. Lumps in this location can be any of these things: * abscess (infection) * cyst * cancer (benign or malignant) * rodent ulcer I suggest you find a vet to take him to for an examination. There are no home treatments for any of these possibilities. Also, treatment depends on what the lump is - all those possibilities have different treatments.

She is a cutie! This could be from an insect/spider bite that has cause a local infection/abscess which is why is has started to swell. This could potentially be a cancerous mass that has caused an inflammatory reaction as well. Since it has recently become swollen, I would strongly recommend for your vet to take a look at it. Your vet will be able to aspirate the mass or swelling if needed. They can even take X-rays if needed if they are concerned about sinus or honey involvement. They will also be able to start her on some antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory if needed. I hope this helps!

There are a number of things that this could be. Cats can get small pink raw spots or swollen areas on their lips called rodent ulcers, which are caused by allergies. Other possibilities would include an insect bite or local inflammatory reaction of some kind, a localized bacterial infection, or even some type of tumor. Unfortunately, there isn't anything over the counter that can be used to treat any of these problems - you can monitor the swollen area for the next few days to see if it resolves on its own, but if it doesn't or if it seems to be getting larger, then Alaska will need to be examined by a vet. He/she can do some simple skin tests if needed to help determine the problem and get her started on appropriate medication to treat it.

It could be an area swollen from her hitting her chin on something or it could be an infection / pimple (acne). This could be the beginning of a condition also known as "rodent ulcer", it's basically an autoimmune reaction and it is not surprising if it starts to occur around pregnancy time. at the moment as long as it doesn't bother her and it doesn't become much larger, i would recommend just monitoring it, as treatment for this condition usually involve steroids which you can't give to a lactating mother.

I am sorry to hear that! I do think going to the vet would be a good idea. Cats can get many types of lumps at their mouths. From your description one thing I would want to rule out is eosinophilic plaques. These can be caused by allergies so getting on a low allergen food (I would recommend prescription due to cross-contamination at the manufacturing level) and medications can be vital! Of course it is hard to tell without looking at her so your vet may want to rule tests or take a biopsy first! I hope this helps!
