My cat has a bean-shaped growth on his cheek. Could it be a tick?

Thank you for providing a picture and for helping this start cat out! It is difficult to say based on the picture of it is a tick or perhaps even an ulcerated skin growth. For this reason I would be hesitant about trying to use a tick removing device. The risk of bleeding or infection could be high if the lesion is in fact not a tick. You could try a warm water bath over the lesion to see if you can visualise the area in greater detail and repost a picture. YEs this is quite likely a tick bite reaction and there may be part of the tick still there causing irritation. Bathing with warm saline soaked cotton wool will help to keep the area clean if she allows you, monitor closely for increasing redness, pain, lameness or fever which may indicate a widespread infection which would require additional treatment. I recommend using a tick prevention such as bravecto every 3months to prevent further incidents

That looks like a tick. I suggest you remove it or have it removed by someone else. Make sure you check the rest of his body for any others. If he goes outdoors you need to be sure to use a flea/tick prevention on him EVERY month. Hello. That is a tick. You can use a pair of tweezers or use a tissue to grab the tick as close to the skin as possible. A steady pull will dislodge the tick. Clean the spot with some peroxide & a dab pf a triple antibiotic. Then, wash your hands & Bobo should be fine. But do watch for any signs of illness as ticks do carry diseases that can be quite dangerous to cats. It might take a week or two to see signs, if they are to appear. If you can, try to apply a good flea & tick preventative on Bobo regularly to prevent more ticks from getting on him. Two to consider are Frontline GOLD or Bravecto for cats. Thanks for visiting Petcoach! Since mites are not visible without the use of a microscope, I am going to assume you are seeing ticks on Tikvichko. Ticks can be prevented with only 1 preventative that I am aware of on he market right now, and hat product is called Bravecto for cats. Here is a website link with more information. https://us.bravecto.com/for-cats.aspx But to rid the ticks that are on him currently, and also to treat for his other conditions (likely an upper respiratory infection and possible tick borne disease) I highly recommend taking him in to your vet for a proper exam and possible tests to make sure he didn’t get some infection from the ticks. This actually does not look like a tick. This could be a little cyst or wart. Check it at the bottom closest to the skin. If it has tiny legs, it is a tick, and you should pull it out; if not, then it is a growth and you may want your vet to examine it.

This looks like a tick - sometimes just one is present, but you should still check for more to make sure. If your other cats goes outdoors it wouldn't hurt to check for ticks as well. There is no specific cleaning that needs to happen after a tick is found - the skin where it was attached can become inflamed but it should resolve after several days.
