My cat is dirty after spay surgery. Can I bathe her with stitches in?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed

My cat (female) recently desexed 8 days ago. She still has the stitches in. She has rolled around in the mud and hasn't been able to clean herself thoroughly. I am wondering if she can be bathed with stitches or if they need to be kept dry? Thanks

The stitches have to be kept dry, so no Cleo cannot have a bath. She should not be allowed to roll around it the mud while she is healing, so I would keep her indoors until it's time for the stitches to come out. Try to remove the mud with a soft wash cloth.
