My cat has a bald, swollen, painful spot on her lower belly.

There are many different issues that could be causing her abdomen to swell, ranging from fluid build up to organ enlargement or tumours. Unfortunately there is no way to shed any light on what is causing it without taking her to a vet for a thorough examination. They may need to run some tests also.

She is a cutie! This could be from an insect/spider bite that has cause a local infection/abscess which is why is has started to swell. This could potentially be a cancerous mass that has caused an inflammatory reaction as well. Since it has recently become swollen, I would strongly recommend for your vet to take a look at it. Your vet will be able to aspirate the mass or swelling if needed. They can even take X-rays if needed if they are concerned about sinus or honey involvement. They will also be able to start her on some antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory if needed. I hope this helps!

Mano should be examined by a veterinarian. Cat bites can quickly become infected which will require antibiotics for treatment. The puncture in her abdomen should be examined to make sure it did not puncture the abdominal wall. This would be a serious situation. The swelling near her tail could be a developing abscess. You can share pictures if you request a consultation, but Mano would be better served by a physical exam followed up with the appropriate veterinary treatments.

Hi,if Pusi is not spayed I suspect that this lump could be an ulcerated mammary tumour. These tumours are very aggressive and have such terrible behaviour. If you look at the size of this wound and compare it to the size of your cat, it is a very large open area. As cats tend not to show sign of pain, I am sure she is acting normal as she tries to overcome this injury, however I can only imagine the pain having an ulcerated area of this size open to the air will cause. Please take Pusi to see a vet, it is the kindest thing to do, and she deserves it as she is also starting to be elderly. Hope you can get her checked over soon.

This cannot be completely assessed just by looking at pictures and usually requires sampling such as fine needle aspiration to determine its origin. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. Mabel is such a cute kitty!! A small amount of bruising around the incision can be normal, but swelling can indicate a possible breakdown in the stitches holding the muscle together and should be checked out sooner rather than later, especially if Mabel seems painful. If the sutures Di breakdown it is possible for intestines to then become trapped beneath the skin and this can be very serious. I would recommend placing an ecollar on Mabel and confining her to a kennel or large box until you are able to have her seen. Excessive activity following surgery is not recommended and can exacerbate any complications that may develop. I hope Mabel feels better soon!

It will most likely need to be tested by a veterinarian to determine exactly what it is. The lump on the side is concerning if it is painful and growing. At his age an abscess or a hernia are possibilities. I would also recommend getting that examined by a veterinarian so that they know how to treat him.
