Is it safe for my cat to play in the backyard? How often can she go?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 3 months and 23 days old | 9 lbs

Is it okay to let my cat out in the back yard to play sometimes, if it's okay how many times can i let her out in a month? In back yard we also let my two chickens out btw and i live in a tropical country. I also have two mouse deers (inside a cage). The pic below is my backyard

Hello. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

It is fine to let Cecille out as much as you would like once she is an adult (over 10 months of age). For now you can take her out for short periods of time supervised. Ultimately it is completely up to you how much you want to let her out. There is no set standard.

Hope this helps. Best wishes!
