My outdoor cat's back wound has pus and blood. Should I see a vet?

Considering that there are multiple problems, I think it would be worth a vet exam. Skin infections along with eye infections can indicate that something is off in the blood chemistry, or with the immune system. I don't mean to scare you, but it's best to just get it checked. A vet would be able to better assess Mya's condition and determine if any further testes or treatment is needed. It's possible that these problems could get much worse if left to heal on their own, so I wouldn't recommend that. In the meantime, the wound should be cleaned well by flushing with clean water for five minutes twice a day. I do not recommend putting any soaps or antiseptics on the wound right now, because it could irritate the wound and delay healing. I hope that helps and Mya gets better soon.

These sound like wounds from being in a bad fight with another cat. It’s best to have these treated by your veterinarian if you can. In the meantime clean each wound with hydrogen peroxide and then apply a thin film of antibacterial ointment on them. I’m concerned about the ones around his anus. There may be a tear in the rectum that may be very serious and need a veterinary exam to determine if the feces are coming out the wound. If so this could cause more infection and may need to be stitched closed. Antibiotics will help these wounds heal more quickly also. It sounds like he had an abscess from an injury, probably an altercation with another cat. A veterinarian would likely not suture it anyway to avoid trapping any contaminants and causing another abscess. It looks pretty clean with healthy granulation tissue forming. The antibiotics, even intermittent have probably helped keep further infection at bay. Keep an eye on it, if he will let you, clean it gently with a damp clean washcloth and keep any debris or infected material cleaned out. It should heal from the outside of the wound to the inside, gradually shrinking and closing over the open area. As long as he continues to eat and drink and behave normally, and and the wound continues to look clean with pink and healthy tissue, he should do fine. He needs to eat, going without eating for more than a few days will cause liver problems in cats which would require a vet visit to be treated.
