My cat ate Smarties candy. Is it dangerous? Does she need emergency vet care?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

My cat found my younger sisters Halloween candy and at about 13 Smarties tablets (nearly one whole package). Should I take her to the vet asap or should she be okay?

Candies and smarties contains different type of sugars and possibly xylitol and chocolate, which are both toxic to dogs and cats.
An immediate check up is required to make your cat sick and give medication to reduce gastrointestinal absorption of toxics.
