At toxic doses it causes an issue with red blood cell oxygen carrying abilities and is seen with in 1-4 hours of ingestion and can last 12-48 hours or until death. Clinical signs include cyanosis (blue gums), difficulty breathing, fast breathing, depression, low body temperature weakness, facial edema, and/or edema of the feet. It can also cause liver toxicity, which can develop 24-48 hours after exposure. Clinical signs are jaundice, vomiting, abdominal pain and not eating. It can also rarely cause kidney damage 1-2 days later. Dry eye can devlop 48-72 hours later. Kattu should be hospitalized and be monitored at a 24 hour facility. I wish Kattu the best
