How long until my cat's antibiotic works and his voice comes back?

That said, with antibiotics, you should start to see some relief from symptoms as early as 24 hours after starting treatment, and should see significant improvement within 72 hours. If you aren't seeing any improvement in Vegas's symptoms after 3-4 days of taking antibiotics, then I would be more inclined to think her symptoms are related to cancer. I hope the antibiotics do help her :-)

It may take 7-10 days for the condition to resolve. As long as he is still eating, breathing normal, and has normal energy then continue the medications as directed and monitor his condition. If he has a viral infection then it will need to just run it's course as the antibiotics will only treat a bacterial infection. If he stops eating, becomes lethargic, or has any breathing issues then he should be rechecked by a vet.

On average we will prescribe this medication for 10-14 days, and anything over 21-28 days is not ideal due to the possible permanent effects on the bacterial flora in the gut. I hope that this helps! Take care. : )

Poor Finn! Usually, an upper respiratory infection should start to improve within 2-3 days of starting antibiotics - so if he's been on meds for a week now and you don't see any improvement at all, I would recommend taking him back to the vet for a recheck. He may need a different antibiotic, or an anti-viral medication like famciclovir if his current meds aren't working.

It could be laryngitis from an upper respiratory infection. Usually, the symptoms will go away within 10 days or so. You can try to entice his appetite with things like tuna, tuna water and chicken.
