How to ensure a 5-week-old foster kitten is warm and fed overnight?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male

Hi I'm fostering a five week old kitten for three weeks. I am doing everything in my power to keep him as healthy and moving as much as possible. However I'm scared to leave him during the nights because I'm not sure if he's too cold or hungry or thirsty. I provide him with as much milk and food the animal shelter provided me.

He definitely needs to be warm, you need to heat the room properly or you can put a warm water bottle under his blanket. regarding the feeding, he should be fine during the night as he can drink by himself if he gets really hungry.
