Is a broken Amaryllis leaf toxic to my cat if she didn't eat it?

This species of plant is actually not very toxic. Ingestion of small amounts usually does not cause any signs of toxicity, so I would not be worried about any residues being an issue. No. That is highly unlikely to occur. The cat needs to chew/ingest the plant for toxicity to occur. It is not a contact toxin. I agree that I would keep Mirz away from the plant, and ensure that she cannot access it when you are not there. It is fine for you to touch her after touching the plant. The toxicity comes from ingesting/chewing any part of the plant, not from the contact itself.

As long as she only got a tiny amount, there shouldn't be anything to worry about. However, these plants can cause gastrointestinal symptoms and burning or irritation in the mouth, along with breathing difficulty, coma, or even death, if a sufficient amount of leaves is ingested. Keep an eye on her, if she will let you look in her mouth, check for any irritation, if she starts displaying any adverse symptoms, such as drooling, vomiting, lethargy or loss of appetite, get her in to see your vet right away.

No, you do not need to worry about toxicity if it was only one pod and pruned it without gloves. You mentioned in your previous post that you thoroughly washed your hands after cutting it. You will need to ingested the pod or the seeds to get toxicity, same for your cat. You also said previously that your cat may have bit at the branches, and you can check the pod to see if there are teeth marks from her biting into it. Just biting it won't be enough, however, to cause toxicity, she would actually have to eat it. Just for your piece of mind, the symptoms of toxicity include vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, and collapse. You would see signs within 4-24 hours, but based on what you have told me, both you and your cat should be just fine :-)

At worst, you may see some oral irritation, drooling or stomach upset. The plant contains calcium oxalate crystals which are very irritating. If you've seen no symptoms, they are likely not affected. If it happens again, rinse the mouth with cool water for 10-15 minutes and offer a bland diet in small, frequent amounts until any symptoms resolve.
