My amaryllis leaf broke. Is the sap toxic to my cat, me, or objects?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 7 years and 5 months old | 7 lbs

There is a Broken leaf on my Amaryllis plant, (my cat DIDNT get ahold of it!) It happened during transport when my cousin shipped it to me. It is now where my cat cant access it, since its out of the box. Now my question is, since the leaf was broken would the wrapping paper/Other presents have sap on them or anything i should worry about&keep my cat away from now&What about myself, and if I touched anything after touching the plant can I spread anything toxic? (Washed twice B4 touching my cat)

This species of plant is actually not very toxic. Ingestion of small amounts usually does not cause any signs of toxicity, so I would not be worried about any residues being an issue. With larger amounts this plant can cause vomiting and diarrhea, but it's toxic effects are not much worse than that.

No. That is highly unlikely to occur. The cat needs to chew/ingest the plant for toxicity to occur. It is not a contact toxin. Coral Cactus sap exposure: What are toxicity signs for my cat or me?

From what I've been able to find, the sap is an irritant, but not as toxic as many more frequently encountered plants, such as oleander. Watch for signs of skin reddening and rash, in a cat that was silly enough to taste it, blistering of the tongue and mucous membranes of the mouth is likely. It sounds like you found it quickly. My cat ate a philodendron plant. Is it toxic? Should I be concerned?

At worst, you may see some oral irritation, drooling or stomach upset. The plant contains calcium oxalate crystals which are very irritating. If you've seen no symptoms, they are likely not affected. If it happens again, rinse the mouth with cool water for 10-15 minutes and offer a bland diet in small, frequent amounts until any symptoms resolve.

My cat ate Madagascar Palm leaves. Is this plant poisonous for her?

The Pachypodium lamerei is also known as the Madagascar Palm, and from what I can find, it does appear to be toxic to cats. It has a highly toxic sap and if ingested it can cause "vomiting, diarrhea, a lack of appetite, lethargy, an irregular heartbeat, and even death if consumed in large amounts" according to the ASPCA. I would move this plant out of Lucy's reach, even throwing it away or giving it away so she doesn't have any access to it. If you do see any of the signs I mentioned above, take her into a vet right away. I hope this helps!

Cat near milky sap plant. Is it poisonous? What symptoms to watch?

Depending on the type of plant, it may or may not cause harm. If you are able to take part of the plant to a local nursery and find out the type of plant it was, this would be helpful. The main things you want to look for are decrease in activity, decrease in appetite, vomiting or diarrhea. Also look in his mouth of any ulcerstions as some plants only cause a local reaction.
