How often should I schedule vet check-ups for adult and senior cats?

After the initial pet veterinary visits as a puppy or a kitten (when the pet is seen every 4 weeks or so for vaccines), a dog or cat should have a veterinary check up at least once a year. For an older pet without many health issues, two checks a year are often recommended.

The first wellness check should be at the age of 6-8 weeks, coinciding with the first course of vaccination. The next wellness check should be at the age of around 13-16 weeks when he gets his rabies vaccine. After that I would have a wellness exam done every 6 month to a year. The best kitten food in my opinion would be canned kitten food from a reputable brand (not a store brand). I personally like Fancy Feast and kitten food from Hills and Iams.

An exam and bloodwork should be done at least once a year. After a cat turns 8, ideally bloodwork should be done every 6 months. If twice a year is not feasible, then yearly is fine as long as the cat is behaving normally.

Deworming is recommended every 3 months so she may be due that by now from her vet. And anti flea treatment is also recommended routinely, the frequency of application depends on the product used. Recheck that bloodwork. If everything is normal, then it is OK to wait a year for follow-up bloodwork, but things can change pretty quickly as pets age, so it is not abnormal to monitor bloodwork every 3-6 months, depending on any extenuating circumstances. So, follow your instincts. No cat likes to go to the vet, but if you are concerned, it is always best to make sure things are OK sooner than waiting months for the next visit.
