Contact your local shelters. Most have spay and neuter clinics where your cat can be spayed for a small cost. Some also can give you a voucher that will give you a substantial amount of money off a regular spay at a vet near you.

I am not sure where you live but you could search for some animal rescues in your area and contact them. They may have a way to help trap her and get her fixed and provide medical care. Depending on her temperment, they may be able to work with her and place her in a home.

The cost of a spay varies greatly but the least expensive option typically is doing it at your local humane society which you may qualify for. How lovely of you to want to do this for Grumpy! I would call a local cat rescue or the SPCA. They can set up a cat trap to catch him to get these things done. You can also get a cat trap yourself, and trap him to get him into the vet.

The things you need to do are get all the vaccines (boosters included), a Feline Leukemia and FIV test, treatment for fleas and worms, and have his feces checked for parasites. Other potential actions are a microchip and a dental cleaning. Your veterinarian will do a physical exam and then let you know what else may need to be done. Hello, Rules on vaccination for spaying cats will vary from every independent hospital. I would recommend calling low cost spay and neuter programs in your area to discuss getting her spayed and at minimal, a rabies vaccination. Many hospitals spay trapped feral cats who have never been vaccinated, so I don't think you will have any problem finding someone to help you out. :) I hope this is helpful! You can always call the animal shelter/ animal control near you. Perhaps you could just offer the cat food off your property? Start with just a little off your property, then move closer and closer to the neighbor's? Or, if she is friendly toward you and you can handle her, you could consider trying to make her your official pet. In most cases, if you can get her into the vet for a checkup, a vaccine or two, and a microchip-ideally, then she is yours and you can claim her as your own outdoor cat. Of course be aware that other cats may head your way when you start placing food outside - you may end up back where you started. Best wishes to you and the kitty!
