Why are my pigeon's droppings yellow and watery? Is it sick?

Hi, i have two pigeons one of them has yellow droppings since yesterday normally its green with bits of white but now the droppingsvare completely yellow and liauidy. are they sick? Thanks

Thanks for reaching out. Yellow stool is not normal and can be an indication of an intestinal infection, intestinal parasites, liver disease and other problems. A veterinary visit is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan. The birds should be separated prior to your veterinary visit, so you can monitor appetite. Providing heat support in the 80-85 F range can give some aid.

Without an exam it would be hard to tell. Changes in stool color can indicate a number of things including parasites, infections, or even organ dysfunction such as liver disease (certain illnesses such as Chlamydiosis can cause this). If your bird is not eating or drinking anything it is best to seek out veterinary care ASAP. Keeping it warm and separated from the flock to avoid the spread of any illnesses may help, as well as continuing to offer food and water until you can see your vet.

Thanks for reaching out. White feces could possibly be increased urates, which could be a result of dehydration or kidney problems. A veterinary visit is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan. Try wetting vegetables or pellets in an attempt to increase water intake. You can offer water via a syringe if possible.
