My bird's poop is yellow after eating egg. What does this mean?

I gave my pigeon boiled and chopped egg to eat. She ate it. After few hours i saw her pooping yellow poops. ( White and Green poop with yellowish water ). What happened? Please tell me.

Thanks for reaching out about your bird. There are yellow pigments in the yolk that can be eliminated in the kidneys that produce the yellow urine/urates. Try discontinuing the egg to see if this returns the urine to normal color. If not, a veterinary visit is recommended to assess and check for liver disease (also a cause of yellow urine).

Thanks for reaching out about your pigeon. Not sure this is from chopped egg shell unless the egg shell was not cooked and could be a salmonella infection. Greenish-yellow stool is a common clinical sign of intestinal infections and/or liver disease and a veterinary visit is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan.

Thanks for reaching out about Jordan and including photos. Pigments from the food can definately be incorporated into the urine or feces. Try removing the food with yellow pigment from the diet for 24 hour and monitor feces/urine color. Liver disease can sometimes result in yellow or green coloration in the urine. If Jordan appears sick or lethargic, a veterinary visit is recommended.

Parasites and some types of foods can also cause the urates to change color slightly, so deworming your flock (if you haven't already) and making sure the starter/grower feed you're feeding doesn't have dyes, etc in it that can change stool color may also help. Respiratory issues and infections can also sometimes cause color changes to the stool as well. If the pullet isn't growing well, seems ill, or you've recently dewormed, then having a vet rule out other issues is best.

Without much other info it would be hard to say what is going on. Some organ issues, parasites, and infections can cause whiter stool or urea changes, while feeding too many snacks/changes in diet can change it as well. If this has been ongoing for a while, I would have the affected bird checked out by your vet to rule out any serious health issues.

Why did my budgie's poop change color after switching to a new diet?

Diet changes can affect the stool, and if you're feeding any extras in addition to the diet change, this could be causing the change you are seeing. It is also possible that his current diet is causing some minor GI upset if it changes immediately after eating and then returns to normal. Other issues such as internal parasites can also cause stool changes, so ruling out and treating for any parasites may be a good idea. Removing any extras such as fruit and veggies and providing only his balanced diet for a few days may also help him adjust and his stool return to normal. If the problem persists, or you see any other symptoms or changes such as reduced eating/drinking, lethargy, etc, then seeking vet care in person to rule out any more serious issues is best.
