Unfortunately, I can not really see anything in the picture. But, based on your description of a long white wormy like creature, it could very well be a tape worm. I know you are squeamish with gross stuff, but bringing in a fecal sample for analysis to your veterinarian will help diagnose this problem. A dewormer, either oral or injectable, can usually resolve these issues before they get out of hand. Depending on the type of tapeworm, some of these are transmissible to people but is generally uncommon. Just be sure to wash your hands thoroughly after handling your bird or any of its droppings.

From your description, it sounds most likely that Hummer has hookworms, but roundworms are also possible. While it would be ideal to have a stool sample analyzed by his vet to determine if any other parasites are present as well (many can only be seen microscopically), there are a number of dewormers available over the counter to treat both roundworms and hookworms. There are over-the-counter sprays that can be used to treat most mites on or off the bird. You can find these products in your local pet store. Read label directions very carefully before using. A warm bath or misting will encourage preening and promotes healthy skin and plumage. Do not use any soap or shampoo. Keep her away from cold drafts when she is wet or damp. Clean and sanitize the cage, bowls, perches and toys. Discard anything that cannot be sanitized. Change cage paper or substrate daily.

Those look like they are probably roundworms. She would have gotten them from coming into contact with infective eggs in the soil most likely. (From where another dog pooped and that poop contained roundworm eggs, then your dog was nosing around near where that was (even if there was no obvious poop on the ground, the eggs will stay in the soil). Poor pup. Roundworms are very common in puppies, because they can get infected while still in their mothers tummy (in utero) and through the mother's milk. To treat roundworms Harry just needs a broad spectrum dewormer like Pyrantel Palmoate or Fenbendazole. 1 treatment given today and then again in 2 weeks. To prevent roundworm infestations in the future Harry needs to get on a monthly heartworm preventative, which has natural intestinal dewormer in it as well. Harry will need to see a vet to get a prescription for the heartworm preventative (i.e. Heartgard, Trifexis, etc), but the intestinal dewormer can be purchased through your local pet store. Your pup should be just fine once he is treated. : )
