My parrot won't stop bouncing and screaming. What's wrong with her?

A sudden change in behavior can sometimes indicate pain or illness, so a good first step is to have Mithu examined by your vet to rule out any health issues. If he checks out healthy, boredom or understimulation could be a potential cause. Spending more time together, offering a variety of toys that can be played with, chewed on, or torn apart, or even adding a playpen to his cage to let him stretch and be active may help.

It's possible Rosie may be bored and trying to play/interact if you're not seeing any other signs of illness and she's still eating/drinking and perching. However if she seems unable to keep herself steady on the perch, isn't eating or drinking, or is having other strange symptoms, it would be best to schedule a visit with a local avian vet to rule out any issues. Illness, infections, neurologic issues, muscular issues, etc may all be possible causes and an exam is needed to narrow them down.

Some neurologic, muscular, diseases processes, and nutritional issues can cause similar symptoms. It would be best to bring Parrot into a local vet ASAP to have him examined, bloodwork taken and possible X-rays taken to look for underlying issues and provide treatment. In the meantime, making sure he is kept calm and quiet, can still access food and water (and is eating a balanced diet of seeds and pellets for budgies) and separating him from any other birds in the cage can help him feel more comfortable until the underlying cause can be determined.

Often these are related to illness, and this could be occurring even if Sunny doesn’t look sick to you.
