My conures play with toys when I talk. Is it territorial or play?

It's possible Mithoo is very bored and is acting out as a form of attention. Adding in some enriching toys that she can play with, chew on, or that she has to work on to get a treat from may help her get out some of this extra energy. Some parrots don't ever speak or mimic sound, and may instead be more interested in other activities such as puzzle toys or learning tricks. Finding other ways to enrich her environment may help. You can also help bond by offering a favorite treat every time you approach her cage so she stats to associate you with positive things, instead of trying to bite you. Birds are like toddlers, so if she is trying to get out, she is likely excited and wanting to explore her surroundings more. If she does like to explore, hiding treats or favorite food items in the area she plays in may encourage her to explore and get out some energy- just make sure the room she is in is safe for her to fly around. If extra activity doesn't help, or she shows any signs of illness, scheduling a vet check up to rule out any health issues that may be causing pain or stress is always a good idea.

In birds, it's a way of showing off and also a way for him to express what he thinks belongs to him, toys, his perch, etc. It's a signal to other birds that this is something he has claimed as his own.

It's possible Blue wasn't socialized very well or didn't have access to toys, so these are new and scary to him. Time, patience, and lots of treats. If you notice Curio has a favorite food, you can start by offering that favorite food only when you're interacting with him. IE, when you pet him, approach his cage, let him out, etc. This can help him to associate you with something fun/good and also make him more curious every time you come by to spend time with him. The same can also be done with toys he likes to play with. Sitting near them when he's out of the cage playing, and feeding a treat every time he comes close or shows interest in you can help teach him that you are safe to interact with and play around. If at any time Curiou becomes nervous or scared, stopping the activity and letting him calm down is best. From there, you can go back to the previous way he was OK with (IE just giving a treat from your hand but not petting) and work again from there.

Thanks for your question about Zinnia. I didn't see how long you have had Zinnia, but part of the reason may be that she is nervous and adjusting to her new home/environment. I am not sure what types of toys you have present, but in the picture I could see some rope material, some wood, and some fibrous types of material. These are all very appropriate toys for a lovebird. Other options may include bells (ensure they are made of stainless steel, including the clapper, as heavy metal toxicity is a concern in birds), plastic (ensure that it is sturdy, as we don't want any ingestion of foreign materials!), and you can make homemade toys as well out of tissue paper (with no dyes) and toilet paper or paper towel rolls. To make these more interesting for Zinnia, you may need to play with the toys with her - of course, this will depend on how social she is with you. You can also incorporate food in with the toys to make them more appealing - this can be done using pellets or produce items. This will not only allow for her to have interaction with the toys, but will provide her with foraging opportunities, which is very important for our pet birds. This is a very common issue, especially with birds that are kept alone or are not otherwise stimulated/enriched in their environments. A good first step is to try and distract Mango with other enrichment, such as toys he can preen and play with, puzzle toys that have food or treats that he has to work to get, or even activity centers where he can climb around and explore/chew on toys. Having him lose when around other people is not a good idea, especially if he bites or becomes aggressive. You can, however, reserve a special favorite treat of his to use only when you have company. Have your friends and family that come by toss this favorite treat to Mango every time they come visit to help him start to associate them with positive things (yummy food) instead of negative (taking away his time with you!). If you have other family that lives with you, having them start to spend time with Mango (and you less) can also help him overcome his attempts at over-bonding/interest in you. Adjusting Mango's diet (less protein/fat) and daylight hours (less sunlight) can also sometimes help change hormone levels in birds that want to mate, and return them to a more consistent baseline behavior.
