My cockatiel has a cyst on her wing. What should I do about it?

Hi there just wondering if I can have some advice on my bird she is a cockatiel and her name is ted she has a cyst on her wing and not sure what to do??

I am sorry to hear about Ted! It sounds like she could have a feather cyst. This is like a person having an ingrown hair only a bit larger because a feather is much larger than a hair. I would recommend having her examined by a veterinarian. Sometimes the cyst can be emptied by gentle squeezing but there is risk of bleeding excessively and it will recurr. In some instances surgical removal of the cyst is needed.
