My bird has lumps on its wings. Are they cysts or something else?

These lesions can become infected and cause worse conditions. This is not normal. It may be a mass, infection, feather cyst or something else. Ziko should be physically examined by your veterinarian or an experienced avian veterinarian to diagnose the underlying cause. Any treatment will depend on the diagnosis.

There is no way of knowing for sure without an examination though this represents a reason to seek veterinary care. I am sorry to hear about Ted! It sounds like she could have a feather cyst. This is like a person having an ingrown hair only a bit larger because a feather is much larger than a hair. I would recommend having her examined by a veterinarian. Sometimes the cyst can be emptied by gentle squeezing but there is risk of bleeding excessively and it will recurr. In some instances surgical removal of the cyst is needed.
