My cockatiel has a bleeding lump on its foot. What should I do now?

This appears to be a contusion on the tissue close to the vent (but not) that happens when cockatiels jump/fall, wings are over trimmed and they hit the ground hard. The tail becomes hyper-extended dorsally, ripping the skin. The wound needs to be cleaned, and systemic antibiotics can assist with infection prevention. A veterinary visit is recommended. Lower perches to 3-6 inches above the bottom of the cage, place a soft towel to lighten falling. Good luck.

It looks like the anus may be prolapsed or there is some sort of tumor growing near the anus. It would be best to bring Slick to a vet ASAP as these can easily become infected and cause worse problems. Until you can get to the vet, keeping Slick in a separate hospital cage if living with other birds, using an Elizabethan(cone) collar to stop him from picking at it (Google has tutorials on how to make bird-sized ones) gently cleaning the area, and keeping him warm is best.

Monitor Budgie for any indication of discomfort or pain, monitor appetite. Try applying a warm compress to see if can shrink mass. Good luck.

Keep it clean and dry. You can dab it with diluted Betadine or chlorhexidine (Hibiclens) daily. If it doesn't begin to heal in a few days or is actively bleeding, see your veterinarian or an experienced avian vet. Monitor for lethargy, loss of appetite or loose droppings. These are also symptoms that should be addressed by your vet.

Looks like she needs some soaking solution for her feet, some antibiotics, and some pain/anti-inflammatory meds. Not sure what they can do if the toes are broken. Good luck

Poor bird! If the foot is at all infected, trying to find a vet that can help in person is best. However, until you can find one, it is a good idea to separate the bird from any cage mates to keep from being picked on, and move him to a warm hospital cage with larger, flat perches that will make perching easier on his feet. Keeping the foot clean and dry and using an ointment such as Blu-kote (most feed and pet stores carry this for use in poultry and other birds) can help prevent infection. You can also Google how to make a bird-sized Elizabethan (cone) collar to put on the bird so that he can't get to his foot and bite it while it heals.

Unfortunately, that picture is extremely blurry, so it is hard to tell what you are describing. If Tory seems otherwise normal and healthy, you can try to keep an eye on the lump and see if it changes. If it's growing rapidly or bothersome, it may indicate a growth or even abscess (infection under the skin) that requires veterinary care to treat. If you are seeing any visible wounds or debris from the site, you can use a warm washcloth to clear it away and try to keep the area clean. If she is being picked on by your other bird at all, moving her to a separate cage with easy access to food and water can help ensure she isn't more stressed and that a wound doesn't open in the affected area. If you are having trouble getting to the vet, you might want to look into a house-call service or mobile vet clinic that can come to you. It may be easier for them to get to your house where they can examine Tory in a lower-stress environment. If you do need to take her to the vet, putting her in a travel carrier with a cover over the top, such as a towel or sheet, to make it nice and dark and cool can help decrease stress when travelling, and make the trip to the vet a lot easier for the both of you.
