Why is my cockatiel not eating, lethargic, and has an eye infection?

Piper is definitely showing symptoms of sickness, it's hard to say what it might be as the symptoms are very general but I would strongly recommend taking him to an avian vet ASAP in order to get it checked and treated.

I am sorry your bird is not feeling well. Typically upper respiratory infections are not contagious however it will determine what is the cause. Some viruses and bacteria can be contagious to other birds but unlikely people. However if your bird is underweight it is important to get the bird to a vet for some blood work. Typically birds loose weight due to underlying disease like infection. I would make sure you always offer clean food and water. Hope that helps

A respiratory infection (bacterial, fungal), aspiration of food into the trachea, enlarged organs (liver, etc.) or infectious diseases like chlamydophilosis, are all possible.
