Why is my chicken's eye dry, watery, and has tiny bubbles?

Hello, This is my golden buff chicken, as seen in the attachment below, ome of it's eye differs from the other. There is dryness around that eye (the one that is different) and there is excessive fluid present which does not flow outwards. We can see this by opening it's eye. It doesn't allow me to open it's eye which is not affected. Besides this the affected eye has tiny bubbles type structures around it. I will ne glad if anyone can help me!

The pictures attached are very small, so it is hard to tell what is going on, however judging by the color change and flaking there could be a few possibilities. Some parasites and mites can affected the skin and may cause irritation or flaking. Skin issues such as fungal growths, burns from the sun, chemicals, etc, or even bacterial infections may also cause flaking, irritation and discharge to appear in the affected area. Nutritional issues, or injuries from other birds may also cause wounds or irritation that could then become infected.

Treating for any parasites, and keeping the area clean and free of debris may help, as well as applying a topical medication to treat any potential infection. You may also want to remove him from the flock for a few days to avoid other birds picking on it and making the area worse. If it doesn't improve, or worsens, having a vet take a look in person is best.

This presentation could be due to a trauma or localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria). Giving the upper eyelid lesion as well a skin infection is more likely. A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. Your vet may want to perform a skin scrape to identify underlying cause more specifically. Disinfection can possibly be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Why is my bird's eye red, watery, and losing feathers?

That is likely to be due to a mild to moderate conjunctivitis, probably secondary to a trauma or infection. A check up would be needed as appropriate treatment would include antibiotics and anti-inflammatory eye drops. Corneal injuries must be ruled out as well. My 8-week-old baby bird has something in its eye. What's causing it?

It is very difficult to say what it may be just by looking at some photos. My best guess would be some injury/inflammation to the cornea due to mild trauma. He would need an exam in person with a vet so they can use an ophthalmoscope to get a better look at the eye. My chicken's swollen eye isn't improving. No vet will treat her!

It could be a touch of conjunctivitis but usually swollen eyes are the first sign of Mycoplasma infection which also cause respiratory problems. They will always have Mycoplasma and stress will trigger it, but the first instance is usually the worst. Even if you don't have a vet who will see chickens you could ring them to get a dose of antibiotic such as baytril which will help in early stages.

The discoloration around the eye is probably from the excessive tearing. What causes milky white eye discharge in chickens and how to treat?

If the discharge permeating from the eye is thick and milky, there is likely an active infection in or around the eye. This can also be indicative of a primary problem in the upper respiratory tract. It was definitely a good idea to separate her from the flock, but use of a weak salty water solution may not be enough. You may be able to obtain something over the counter at a farming supply store, but its possible you may require something that is prescription only to get matters under control. Something that has an antibiotic and/or steroid in it may be needed.
