My cat attacked a crow. Is the crow sick or dying? What can I do?

You can call your local veterinary clinic or humane society. Ask for the contact information of the nearest wildlife rehabilitator. If the crow can be caught, a rehabber can give it the best chance at recovery and eventual release. Do not attempt to trap or handle the bird yourself.

Poor Ekko! These signs can be caused by an obstruction (especially if he ingested bones and feathers) or a toxicity (perhaps something that the bird had eaten or made the bird sick). If this little bird is still in your possession, I would recommend contacting a wildlife rehabber in your area to see if they would be able to treat it with antibiotics and then rehabilitate it while its feathers grow back. Without its feathers, it makes it very difficult for birds to keep warm, even in warmer climates. If some of the tail feathers are missing, it can make it difficult for them to fly appropriately as well. Additionally, you may be able to contact a veterinarian who is comfortable seeing birds as they may have contacts for wildlife rehabilitators in the area as well. Hello! I'm sorry to hear about Mithwing's accident. Cats can be very dangerous to parrots, and I'm sure it was a scary situation. Be very sure that she doesn't have any puncture wounds on her body as cat saliva contains a lot of bacteria that can be toxic to birds. While it is possible that Mithwing is just very stressed from the incident, she could also have some internal injuries that you can't see. If she does not eat or return to acting like her normal self within the next 12 hours, I strongly suggest that you bring her to a veterinarian immediately. She may need an x-ray to see if she has any broken bones (broken ribs are common and can be very painful) or internal bleeding. This is not normal. It appears that this would only happen if you do not feed your cat and he is very hungry. I suggest you get some proper cat food and feed him properly and take away the killed cat. I also suggest you take your cat to a vet for an exam to make sure he is ok.

When wild animals no longer try to escape from humans, it generally means they are very sick. You may go online to see if there is an Audubon society or a zoo that will accept wild birds for treatment. Try to keep it warm and in a safe location. Put trays of food and water nearby.
