Why is my bird quiet, inactive, fluffed up, and staying on his perch?

Hi, The changes you have described in Chuy are very conserning to me. Birds can become sick very quickly and tend to hide signs of illness. I’m worried that Chuy May have an infection or other serious illness that would cause him to be lethargic and not eat. I recommend you take Chuy to your veterinarian as soon as you can for an examination. They will be able to do any additional tests needed and start the appprorpate treatment. Good luck!

Providing supplemental heat in the 80-85 F range can give some aid but is not a treatment. Problems could be metabolic (liver, kidney), infections, dietary deficiencies and more. Hello. You do describe a bird that may be unwell. Infections, parasites, poor nutrition, possibly unsuitable environmental conditions can all cause malaise in a bird. This includes any air from vents that are in the house. Birds can be very sensitive to temperature changes, so this will be something to evaluate closely in your house. Other things that can make Oliver tremor would be if he is nervous, as you suggested, or if he doesn't feel well. Things you can do to make him feel comfortable include providing him with a quiet area for his cage, and if he is alone, a mirror. I would recommend having him evaluated by a veterinarian as well.
