My baby bird has a bruised leg and won't stand. Should I see a vet?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Female

My two month old bird has a bruised leg and I don't know what to do. She still walks on that leg but only when she needs to. Otherwise she doesn't stand on it

It is possible that Angie had trauma to her leg. If she did get soft tissue injury this usually resolves with time. However a bruise can also be due to a fracture, bleeding issue or infection. I would recommend taking her to a vet to determine the cause of the bruise and also start her on pain medication for better control of pain/comfort.
