If Diablo is preferentially eating the green pellets, the feces can be more green. Fat should be kept minimal, and with the 10% fat in the pellets and seed, the seed should be limited if not eliminated. Parrots are not exposed to many seeds in the wild, but nuts yes. A wide variety of vegetables are important, as is a protein source such as beans or legumes. Good luck.

One mild concern would be a condition call chlamydophilosis, which can also be communicable to other birds and people. A veterinary visit is recommended anyways for any new acquisitions, and this disease should be tested. Monitor for now but see a veterinarian if the condition persists. Good luck.

Thanks for reaching out about Susi and including photos. Other diseases can cause greenish stool, anything that affects liver function. AS you probably know, psittacosis is zoonotic. Veterinarians can sometimes have access to injectable doxycycline, since won't take orally. Gavage feeding the medications and food could also be beneficial and a veterinarian can assist with the technique. You might have to travel further is an avian veterinarian is not in your vicinity, as this bird sounds critical. Good luck.

Kidney or liver problems, ingested foreign bodies, pain, hormonal problems are just a few of the possibilities. A veterinary visit is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan. Providing heat support in the 80-85 F range can give some comfort. Not sure which antibiotic this is but unlikely this is caused by a gastrointestinal infection. Good luck.

Submit a sample to your veterinarian to diagnose parasites or bacterial/fungal overgrowth. Discontinue feeding fruits and vegetables until the stool is normal, then introduce one at a time slowly. Clean and sanitize the cage, bowls, toys and perches. Discard anything that cannot be sanitized. Use paper towels on the cage bottom and change them daily until his droppings are normal. Provide plenty of fresh, clean water. Keep him warm and as stress free as possible. If he develops lethargy, loss of appetite or if the droppings don't begin to firm up in the next 24 hours, have him examined by your vet or an experienced avian vet.

Watery green stool can be caused by a number of things including problems with the diet, too many snacks or treats, parasites, illness, and even organ issues. If you've given Lucky some snacks recently, removing all extra treats and only feeding his food for a few days may help resolve the issue. It is often difficult to differentiate between loose stool and polyuria (increased urine), as they often pass both at the same time. This must be examined as the birds passes a bowel movement to identify well formed feces. A loose stool can be the result of an intestinal infection, liver disease, ingested foreign body (particle, toxin, other) and more. Increased urination can be due to increased water intake (behavioral, kidney or liver disease, diabetes (rare), environmental stresses (heat, breeding season, change in diet). Providing supplemental heat in the 80-85 F range, 24/7 can sometimes support the immune system. If the weakness continues, a veterinary visit is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan. Good luck.
