Why isn't my African Grey's tongue bump getting better on antibiotics?

I would have expect it to get better on these antibiotics, in that case there is a very good chance that it's a fungal infection rather than a bacterial infection, you need to take her back to the vet ASAP and ask him to try an anti fungal treatment.

If the mouth sore is caused by a bacteria than the antibiotics should help to heal the sores. Typically, antibiotics are used for 10 to 14 days. If the ulcer is still persisting after the 10 days than call your vet and give him an update. If it is not caused by a bacterial infection than the antibiotics will probably not help. Your vet could get a biopsy if needed to determine the exact cause of the lesion.

If it is a mass or tumor on his tongue, he will need to be physically examined by your veterinarian or an experienced avian veterinarian. The area in question can be aspirated with a needle to collect samples for pathology, if indicated, to identify it. You can offer soaked pellets or soft foods to make eating easier for now. Keep him warm and as stress free as possible until he sees the doctor.

If there is a secondary infection associated with the ulcer than it will help. If the ulcer is caused by trauma from his tongue touching his teeth than it might not help completely. If there is a veterinary dentist in your area than you could have your dog evaluated to see if there is anything that can be done with the teeth to help prevent the problem.

I am sorry to hear about your bird! It is difficult to fully evaluate a wound from a photo. From the photo it looks like there could be some areas of black skin. If this is the case and the skin itself is black, we would be concerned this tissue has become devitalized and is dead, and needs to be surgically removed/debrided. If the black area is just scabbing over the wound, then I would continue with your current treatments, but I would have expected the wound to be healed after several months unless it was very deep within the tissues. Tribrissen can be used in birds for non-specific infections. Administer as directed by the prescribing veterinarian. Keep Steve warm and as stress free as possible. I cannot find any information on the other product listed. The manufacturer website has very limited information, not even ingredients or a specific antibiotic. Without an actual antibiotic name, advice on its use cannot be given.

You should give the antibiotics a couple days to work, i am hoping that by Sunday you will start seeing some improvement. if by Monday it is not getting better take him back to the vet, it might need to be opened surgically in order to drain the fluids that are accumulating on that spot.
