Why is my boer goat struggling to stand and wobbling her head?

Check her temperature. If she has a fever, call out your farm vet. Potential causes include infection, vitamin/mineral deficiency (namely vitamin E and selenium), parasites (the most worrisome being meningeal worm) or trauma. Keep her warm and as stress free as possible. If necessary, rig up a sling to help her get around. The easiest is a towel slung underneath her behind the front limbs. Without an exam, it is difficult to determine definitively what is happening. If her symptoms are worsening, consider an emergency vet call out or trip to the nearest veterinary ER.

I would definitely be concerned enough to call a vet out for this. If she was in labor, then you would have seen signs of this (swollen vulva, fluid discharge, etc.) and it would not cause them to act this debilitated. This is an emergency and you need to call your vet to come out and examine your goat or you need to take the goat to your vet. There could be many reasons for your goat's behavior such as metabolic problems, poison and also infectious diseases. All these can cause a goat to appear poisoned.

Sounds like either enterotoxemia (Clostridium spp) or parasites like tapeworms. What parasites did you treat for? Tapeworms need a special deworming medication as they are not killed with a general dewormer. Are you vaccinating against Clostridial diseases? If you have a local vet, I suggest you consult with them.

She may have a grain bloat, have ingested something toxic or have an infection. I recommend having a vet take a look at her as soon as possible. In the meantime try to walk her a bit and she is she is interested in browsing or chewing any hay.

This is not normal. Please have Boots seen by a vet right away. She may be dealing with a neurological issue due to trauma, infection, or other causes. Puppies can also develop potentially fatal dehydration and low blood sugar fairly quickly, so it is important to have Boots seen by a vet. Good luck, and I hope she feels better soon!

I am very sorry that Goldy is sick. Unfortunately his symptoms are very vague. I really cannot tell you what is wrong with him. You really should have a vet come to see him. If he hasn't been dewormed you can start there. I really do not know what medications you have available to you to treat goats so other than deworming there is nothing else I can really recommend.
