I'm sorry but your photos did not come through. But, I can tell you that for one guinea pig the recommended hutch dimensions are: 7.5 square feet cage (minimum), but more is better; generally 30" x 36" is a good size.

Paper bedding such as Carefresh bedding or this type is currently recommended. There would be no greater issue with them ingesting the paper bedding versus the wood shavings bedding, as the paper bedding would actually be more easily digested (as paper is actually a product made from broken down wood!). The paper is more expensive but has less risk of causing wounds (occasionally the wood shavings can have sharp pieces and cause injury to the skin or eyes or mouth) and less risk of dust or other irritants to the respiratory tract.

If your guinea pig is sneezing it could be an indication of an upper respiratory tract infection. These can lead to pneumonia fairly quickly which can be life threatening in guinea pigs. If she is sneezing consistently I would recommend taking her in to see the vet so she can be started on some antibiotics. If the sneezing is just occasional then keep an eye on her to make sure it does not get worse. As far as the smell, all you can do is keep the cage in a well ventilated area, change the bedding frequently like you are doing and bathe your guinea pigs if they start to become smelly. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Boop by Petco!

Hi, I'm Dr Andrea and I see a lot of Guinea Pigs. Your poor babies might just need some time to adjust. Put their cage in a quiet place and maybe even put a towel over the back of it so they have a "safe" place to go. Make sure their is a hide box and a tube in their cage so they have a place to hide. You can leave food in there as well. Remove any noise and make sure dogs, cats and loud kids can't bug them until they adjust.. Slowly, once they adjust more you can start putting your hands in the cage and placing yummy treats on your palm for them to come and sniff at. You can also try to gently stroke them as well.

Poor Oreo! Make sure you don’t have a cedar substrate - some Guinean pigs are allergic to this. My favorite substrate is carefresh. It look like cotton. Since he is coughing as well, I do worry about an upper respiratory infection. You will need to call the specific petco location that you are interested in going to as the prices may vary and you will need to be sure to make an appointment with a vet who is comfortable seeing guinea pigs. I hope this helps and he starts to feel better soon!
