The key to doing treats while a dog is on an elimination diet is to use treats that have the same ingredients as the food you are trying. Sometimes the easiest way to do this is to use canned food of the variety and flavor that you are using to put in a Kong or bake into treats. Other options would be to use sweet potato chews if the food you are feeding has sweet potatoes in it (which Zignature kangaroo does not) or giving dehydrated chews that are the same meat source that you are feeding (which will be a challenge for a kangaroo food). So, for the food you are feeding right now, the best option may be to use canned Zignature kangaroo to create treats for Lucy. Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Hi there. Great question! If Brody is a big chewer I would suggest compressed rawhides or nylabones. https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/nylabone-healthy-edibles-wild-bison-value-bag-dog-treats You may also want to consider getting him a kong and fill it with stuff that he likes. https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/kong-classic-dog-toy https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/kong-stuffn-pepperoni-recipe Regardless of what you give him to chew always be sure he is supervised during chewing (except for the Kong) just in case he breaks a piece off the bone and tries to swallow it! This can cause choking. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

My favorite is the Virbac veggie chews. They contain no meat products. Here is a link —> https://us.virbac.com/home/our-products/pagecontent/product-selector/cet/cet-veggiedent-tartar-control.html However, keep in mind that if Twinkie has severe dental disease (ie loose teeth, gum loss), then he won’t be able to handle any hard chews like this. Instead a good dental cleaning and extraction of any diseased teeth should be discussed with your veterinarian before using chews. Best of luck moving forward with Twinkie, and I hope that these are suitable for him. Take care

Kong toys with frozen peanut butter or other frozen treats can provide hours of entertainment without the added risk of breaking teeth on hard bones. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
