Hi and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! For cats, I would recommend Revolution which a topical solution applied once monthly. It helps prevents fleas and intestinal parasites in cats. It is easy to use and very effective in cats. This is a prescription medication your can obtain through Jax's veterinarian. I hope this helps!

Yes, there are topicals you can use: Profender and Revolution are two that come to mind straight away. ( https://www.allivet.com/p-3497-profender-for-cats.aspx ) ( https://www.allivet.com/p-1902-revolution-for-cats.aspx )

Congratulations on your new dog! I like Revolution if you are looking for a topical product. It consistently works well and is well tolerated. If you like the idea of an oral product better, I like Trifexis (it’s another all in one product). Sometimes though the pets can smell the Trifexis and they won’t eat it. In that instance, I like Simparica and Interceptor. My personal preference is oral products. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

You received a highly effective preventive medication which also covers mites besides the ones you mentioned. Realize that your kitties probably are stressed out with the two moves, one away from the person they loved (yes hoarder kitties are loved too, and love their owner) to the shelter and then from the shelter to you. Give them lots of TLC and they will get used to their new home soon.

I'm so sorry but it is against the law for us to write prescriptions over the internet without having personally examined the pet. You can go to one of Petco's VETCO vaccination clinics (bring the cats with you) and they can get you the Revolution after the vet examines the cats. There is no charge for the exam, just for the product. Call first and make sure they will have the Revolution with them. There appears to be multiple clinics happening in your zip code on Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 29th.
