If you can’t increase the volume of food the pups will eat, try to increase the calorie content. Also making sure you feed a high quality food will ensure that the pups absorb the nutrients appropriately. I like Royal Canin and Purina Pro Plan. Recommended non-grain-free dog food for two dogs, one gaining weight?

Pro Plan is actually a good dog food. So unless your dogs have a problem with the food, I would not change. If you do indeed need to change dog food you can change to Royal Canine, Hill´s or Iams or any other reputable feed brand. Make sure you get a complete food for the size of your dogs. There is so much choice that it would be too much to list. I do not recommend Blue Buffalo as I have seen quite a few dogs on that brand who are not doing so well. Yes, definitely stay away from grain free dog food.

Best puppy food for underweight dog: Pro Plan, Royal Canin, Hills?

Hello, any of these diets could be recommended by your veterinarian. If you feed the recommended doses as detailed on the bags then this should be sufficient for a puppy, however, in an older dog this may be too rich for her. If your veterinarian is recommending that she continues to eat a puppy food, then my choice would be a Royal Canin diet. Otherwise, you can feed a supplemented or bigger portion adult diet.
