Harrison's Bird Diet is the best food out there. It is pelleted so there can be some resistance from your bird transitioning to the new diet if he has been on a seed diet, but it is nutritionally complete and very high quality. Toys I find that lovebirds like have been cotton rope toys that they can preen and groom like the feathers of another bird.

Some toys or changes to the environment are definitely a great way to help reduce boredom. You can look for toys that are soft or fuzzy to encourage preening and chewing behavior, or toys that can move around such as swings or bendy ladders for exercise. Treats that have to be pecked at are also great enrichment. Just be sure to choose toys that are designed for your bird's size and activity level. If you have a pair, you may also want to add in a nest or some nesting material to encourage building and give them extra enrichment.

Thanks for reaching out about Pico and including pictures. Individual birds with respond differently to training techniques. Being the provider of treats and playful activities can gain trust. Letting Pico see you play with the other lovebird, and then want that same experience, might help also. This is a difficult one, because not all birds are tamable. Good luck. Be persistent.

You can contact the local Petco and confirm they can clip wings. If not, have your veterinarian or an experienced avian veterinarian clip the wings or show you how. If you've never done it, do not attempt it at home. You could injure your bird.

Hello. This is a great time to have your bird examined. Your veterinarian will do a general wellness exam & examine a fecal sample for parasites. This would be a very good start to a long, happy, healthy life for Peyton. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.
