Because fleas are so problematic, flea prevention is essential! Commonly prescribed preventives include oral and topical medications—although injectable flea prevention is available, as well.

1. You don't need to do anything about the litter box 2. You can give them a Capstar and then the next day you can apply a topical flea medication like Advantage II. 3. You need to treat all animals in the house with a flea medication 4. You need to treat the house. I recommend Knockout Spray ES (see below) 5. You do not need to bathe the cats. It is actually better if you don't. 6. If you have a yard, I would treat the yard with Advantage Yard Spray (see below) 7. Monitor the cats for tapeworms. Cats get tapeworms by ingesting infected fleas. It may be a few weeks before you see them, if you are going to see them. Congratulations on adopting Butterscotch! She's adorable! Good for you for having Advantage II on hand - this is a much more effective and safe medication than Hartz flea treatments. However, I generally advise waiting at least 2 weeks between applications of topical flea medications. Fortunately, there are a few other options for treatment at this point. The ideal option would be giving Butterscotch prescription-based Comfortis, which is an oral flea medication that works quickly and effectively, and can be given at the same time as topical medications due to different mechanisms of action. However, this may require a trip to the vet since Comfortis is prescription based. The other option would be to give Butterscotch a dose of oral Capstar (available through most pet stores) which will quickly kill adult fleas, but will not provide lasting prevention. After a dose of Capstar, you can also give her a bath in original Dawn dish soap to kill any lingering adult fleas and remove any flea dirt with the hopes of keeping the fleas at bay for the next week until you can apply Advantage II. Be sure to keep both of your cats (and any other pets) on good quality flea prevention regularly for at least the next few months. Also be aware that cats can acquire tapeworms from eating fleas infected with this parasite, so it may be worth discussing a deworming treatment with a praziquantel-based medication with Butterscotch's vet. I hope this helps and that all goes well!

Cats can be sensitive to flea medications. For that reason it is safest to wait 2 weeks between products even with different ingredients. Your vet can prescribe a cap star which is a pill that will last for a day that can help while you wait the remaining time

1. Get her some antibiotics: https://www.petsworld.in/corise-clivet-suspension-20-ml.html 2. Apply this salve to her wounds. It also has a fly repellent in it. If you don't do this, she will get maggots in the wounds. https://www.petsworld.in/himalaya-scavon-cream-50-gm.html 3. Feed her some high quality, high calorie food like kitten wet food: https://www.petsworld.in/royal-canin-kitten-instinctive-cat-food-1-2-kg.html 4. Keep her inside for at least one week so she can heal.

You can throw a blanket or large towel over her and grab her that way, wrap her and then cut off the collar with scissors. Best get someone to help you. Your vet can also give you some acepromacine tablets you will need to crush and put in her food, preferably inside, so she cannot run off and hide and fall asleep somewhere else or get attacked by a dog while sedated. There are cat traps that you may be able to borrow from your local animal welfare organisation.
