You can get Nexgard at any one of our VETCO clinics in your area: ( https://www.vetcoclinics.com/services-and-clinics/clinic-locations-and-schedules/?zip=34639 ) I suggest you use Knockout Spray ES to treat the house and a yard spray to treat the yard. ( https://www.allivet.com/p-1389-knockout-es-area-treatment.aspx?SearchTerm=knockout+Auto ) ( https://www.allivet.com/p-9065-vet-kem-yard-spray-32-oz.aspx?SearchTerm=yard%20spray+Auto ) You can use this hot spot medication on the lesion that he still has on his body. You will need to get him a cone collar to stop him from chewing that spot until you can get the fleas and his discomfort under control. The lesion will not heal unless he stops chewing at it. ( https://www.allivet.com/p-2846-vetericyn-plus-hot-spot-spray.aspx?SearchTerm=hot%20spot+Auto ) ( https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/contech-procone-soft-recovery-collar ) If he doesn't improve then you will need to get him back to the vet for an exam.

Congratulations on your new dog! I like Revolution if you are looking for a topical product. It consistently works well and is well tolerated. If you like the idea of an oral product better, I like Trifexis (it’s another all in one product). Sometimes though the pets can smell the Trifexis and they won’t eat it. In that instance, I like Simparica and Interceptor. My personal preference is oral products. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

Yes, you can give her NexGard now. You should also treat the environment as well. This includes vacuuming everywhere and washing all bedding. Follow up with an area treatment such as Indorex or Knockout ES.

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! If Tyson has Lyme disease he should be put on a good flea and tick medication like Nexgard year round. Plus ticks carry many other diseases besides Lyme disease. Once he is healthy I would also consider vaccinating him for Lyme. Dogs can get re-infected with Lyme disease despite being exposed previously. I would also check urine samples twice yearly for the development of protein in his urine. Protein in the urine can be an indicator of Lyme nephropathy which is a devastating kidney disease from Lyme. Not all dogs get this secondary complication. I hope this helps and I wish Tyson the best!

Nexgard is an excellent product that provide tick protection in addition to flea prevention. Bravecto is a similar product, but it provides coverage against fleas and ticks for 3 months. All of these medications require a prescription. I would recommend discussing them with your vet to determine the best fit for Charlie.
