Hi there! You could try Feliway pheromone spray in her carrier before the trip, along with a natural calming supplement such as Zylkene or Composure. All of these can be ordered online or purchased at pet stores without a prescription.

Unfortunately, by law it is illegal for the experts at Boop by Petco to recommend using any drug, including OTC drugs, without seeing the animal in person first. That's because doing so requires a veterinary client patient relationship which cannot be achieved via an internet forum. In addition, the experts cannot say for certain if a specific drug is safe for your dog. I would have Lexi seen by a vet. They can let you know if an antihistamine would be helpful for her, but she may need a stronger drug like a steroid to help with her symptoms. I hope this helps!

Plane rides can definitely be stressful for cats. There are several different sedatives that would be appropriate for a healthy young cat. Gabapentin is my favorite, but you'll have to talk with your vet to see what they are comfortable with. Acepromazine is a sedative that was commonly used previously, but is not longer recommend because we understand better that is it slows down the body, but not the mind - not so helpful for scary situations. Good luck!

You likely will not be able to purchase an injectable antihistamine for your cat. Diphenhydramine is commonly used in veterinary medicine to treat various allergic reactions. It is possible to get diphenhydramine compounded into a transdermal gel. Ask your vet or search online for a veterinary compounding pharmacy.
