Leave the lights on so he can acclimate and see they is no danger. Don't force him to go into the room or near the lights. If and when he does, praise and reward him. Consider a pheromone product such as the Adaptil collar or DAP plug in diffuser to decrease any anxiety.

A crate or crate training is never a bad idea. It can also serve as a safe place for Bella (as you have stated). It doesn't need to be huge either, just big enough for her to lay down, turn around and stand. Make sure there are no sharp edges and that the bars are close enough together so she cannot get her head between them.

That's cool that the recovery suit will work for her then. The cost of crates vary by location, so I would check costs in pet stores, as well as checking online sites that resell things (like Ebay if you have that in Bosnia & Herzegovina). You may be able to buy one second hand. Yes, she can eat her regular food :-)

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! On the contrary, I actually think that what you are doing is the healthiest choice for Snowball. There are some dogs that, for no reason, eat EVERYTHING. (This has nothing to do with you as an owner by the way.) As an emergency room vet, I see "repeat offenders" all the time and unfortunately, it takes two or three emergency surgeries for the owners to figure out that they need to keep their pet in a "dog-proofed" area. But you are being VERY smart in my opinion in keeping her in a safe place when you cannot directly supervise her. This is exactly what I would recommend. As long as Snowball is a healthy weight, has play sessions with you once or twice a day, and gets walks or supervised time outside every day, I have absolutely no problem with this scenario.

Hi there and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Sounds like Liberty may be getting close to giving birth- I would encourage her now if possible. Dogs, when they are close to whelping, do seek out nesting areas on their own without assistance most times. She may have found underneath your deck a safe spot to give birth, but if it is cold out at all, I would try and keep her inside the house if possible. When taking her outside to potty, you may want to leash walk her out so she doesn't hide underneath the deck or other places that may be a less than ideal area for her. I hope this helps and good luck with the new pups!
