can lasinopril replace elanapril ....? or what human drug is the same as elanipril??
Enalapril is the generic form of this medication and it is the same as the enalapril used in humans. Lasinopril is a similar drug, is in the same class, and has a similar mode of action. Ofterntimes it is doctor preference which one is prescribed but occasionally there are reasons to choose one over the other. Enalapril is more commonly used in veterinary medicine. So yes, you could potentially switch to lasinopril but I would definitely speak with the prescribing veterinarian first to make sure there are no specific reasons to avoid it. I hope this helps. Yes, there is a generic called enalapril maleate. You will need to get it from your vet. Just ask them and they can either order it for you, write you a prescription or call it in to a pharmacy for you. My 80 pound dog was put on 2 doses of 20 mg per day of elanapril maleate. Online it states that the typical does is given once per day. Was she prescribed too much?

I dropped a 5 mg enalapril on the floor at 12:00PM today and my dog ate it before I could stop him. It is now 5:30PM and he has been fine all day, should I be concerned?
Hello. 5 mg was a very small dose of enalapril ( which we do use regularly in dogs ) for a dog that weighs 55 pounds. Abby will be perfectly fine & you have nothing to worry about. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

I may have given dog an extra dose of enalapril by accident. I counted pills and might be one off. He is a 64 lb border collie taking it bc if extra protein in urine. He takes a 10mg pill every 12 hrs.

Other signs include lethargy, excess salivation, increased heart rate, vomiting, diarrhea, weakness, and cough. If you see any of those signs, rush him into a vet immediately. I hope this helps!
