For days where it is very hot, you do want to avoid taking your dog for a walk at the hottest parts of the day (mid-day) especially on paved areas as your dog's feet can get burned. They do sell dog booties that you can put on your dog's feet to help protect them. There are many different companies that make these, one example is https://www.amazon.com/HiPaw-Breathable-Dual-Boots-Protector/dp/B01HS2M7FI/ref=sr_1_7?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1496836452&sr=1-7&keywords=dog+boots. If she has no skin/coat issues, just a gentle oatmeal shampoo is fine for bathing when needed. Most dogs do not need frequent bathing unless they are getting very dirty and bathing too often can dry their skin out. I wouldn't bathe more than every other week unless needed. You can follow this with a creme rinse. I do not recommend giving bones to pets as there can be a variety of problems that can arise from this, including broken teeth, choking, or intestinal obstruction. You can read more about these risks at: https://www.fda.gov/ForConsumers/ConsumerUpdates/ucm208365.htm A safer option would be a kong toy https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/kong-classic-dog-toy stuffed with canned dog food and popped into the freezer or filled with peanut butter or another treat if you want something as a treat for prolonged chewing for your pup.
Whether or not it is safe to leave your dog at your sisters will depend on your dog. If he has never been around children before or has shown any aggression towards children, then it is less safe. No dog should be left unattended around children, so it is best if your dog hasn't been around the baby to keep it in an area separated from where the baby will be- either a separate area of the house or outdoors. Some dogs are fine with babies, others may be made anxious by the presence of a baby or they may view the baby as a prey due to small size and the funny noises the baby makes. Since your dog is so small, perhaps putting it in a pen inside your sister's house would work. He shouldn't be hard to contain due to his size. Whether you should bring him with you is going to depend on where you area going- do they allow dogs? will it be very hot outside? will you have to leave the dog in a car? It can get hot VERY quickly in a car in warm weather even with windows rolled down, so it is
Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. Brutus could be suffering from a skin allergy or other primary skin condition such as seborrheic dermatitis. I would recommend the below following products, which can all be found online quite easily. I would use these for at least 4-6 weeks before considering something else. This could potentially be related to the diet as well. If there is no improvement with the products below, I would recommend a diet trial with one of the foods listed below as well. These foods will require a prescription so you will need to discuss them with your veterinarian. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further. 1. Douxo PS Calm shampoo and bathe twice weekly until resolved then every other week for maintenance 2. Malacetic conditioning spray and apply to the affected area 2-3 times per day until resolved 3. Krillex shed free chews 4. Essenti
There are cooling mats available that you can take with you to help keep him cool. Make sure there is always fresh clean cool water available for him to drink, even if you have to carry it yourself. Never walk him on hot pavement in the summer. You may consider also taking cold packs with you to supplement the cool pad and/or a damp towel for him to lie on.
