Why are my fish dying fast with cloudy eyes? Is it water quality?
Thanks for reaching out about Diesel. This surely points to water quality issues. Have you tested the ammonia, nitrites and nitrates? Any chance of copper in the system? Parasites and bacteria rarely cause death this quickly. Remove all fish and place in new tanks, with spring water (bottled or reverse osmosis). Change or add carbon filtration. Good luck.

Why are my fish still sick after velvet treatment, and tank has algae?
Thanks for reaching out. Have you tested water quality for pH, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. Correct problems. Don't see any signs of external lesion on the pictures, except fine erosion, and possible gravid fish. A veterinary visit is probably needed to trouble shoot for disease. Randomly adding chemicals to the water could have detrimental effects. Good luck.

Thanks for reaching out about your fish and including photos. Water quality needs to be checked (pH, ammonia, nitrites and nitrates) and corrected. Often high protein lead to increased surface tension of the water and the bubbles accumulating. This can also damage the skin and fins. Good luck.

My fish have red gills after moving tanks. Is it ammonia poisoning?
Hi, You will need to test for ammonia, nitrite and nitrates now that there are fish in the new tank. If the biofilter is not well established in the new tank, then the abrupt presence of fish will cause an ammonia spike. You should do a partial water change, ensure proper aeration of the water. There are products you can get to boost the biofilter if this is in fact the issue. You should also consider the number of fish for the just meet of gallons in the tank as overcrowding may be a contributing factor. Why is my cichlid pale and inactive after a stressful trip?
Anytime you transport a fish, it can be stressful. Loud noises, vibrations and no filtration can cause stress. Check the water chemistry using a liquid home test kit or submit a water sample for testing. The local Petco may do this for free or for a small fee. Aim for an absence (0 ppm) of ammonia and nitrites with nitrates at 20 ppm or less. Perform a partial water change if indicated. Use only conditioned water that is temperature matched to prevent further stress or shock.
