A thermometer is an important piece to your complete aquatic set-up in order to help maintain the health of your fish. Thermometers may be external, sticking to the outside of the aquarium with an adhesive, or be submersible inside your aquarium. Placement of your thermometer will depend on the location of your aquarium's heater and should be on the opposite end of the tank from the heater, yet a location that is easy to check regularly. This will help you keep an eye on any temperature fluctuations that can be harmful to your fish.
The thermometer helps read the relative temperature of the water and is helpful in protecting your fish from unsafe temperature fluctuations.
The thermometer should be on the opposite end of the tank from the heater in a position that is easy to check.

i recently got a beta fish, he swam around all the time and now he just lays around. The only time he gets up is when i feed it and when i turn the lights on, i guess the lights just startle him. I looked online and what i read suggested that i get a tank heater, I wanted to ask before i buy. Do you have any recommendations?
I just want to know if my tank looks ok and if I might need anything else. P.S. the temperature isn't as high because I just connected the lights because I was cleaning the tank. The grass is fake btw
What watt under the tank heater will I need for a Kenyan sand boa? Will it prefer a heat lamp too? If so, what type of bulb?

My marine class are getting Silver Perch. We are putting them in this enclosure. What type of equipment will we need to keep them away from disease, pests, and also what filters and water temperature will we need to keep them alive. How do we breed them and what type of food is needed.
I have a leopard gecko and it seems that the temperature in the tank isn't getting to what it needs to be. I have a heating mat and a thermostat and i have the heating mat highest up to 93 degrees. But the air inside on the warm side is only like 79 degrees how do I fix this I know that heating mats are the best for them but it isn't making my tank warm enough. Also, I know that heat lamps aren't the best since they aren't basking animals. So what should I do to make it warmer?
I recently got a betta fish. He has a weird goldish coloration around his face that I'm not sure if its natral. Is this normal for a fish to have? Also, I live in texas so the house is always pretty warm and Im not sure if he needs a heater in his tank. Ive felt his water and it doesnt seem cold. Should I get one for him?
What watt uth should I use for a ten gal Kenyan sand boa tank? And would it be beneficial to use a heat lamp since my house gets cold? If so what bulb/watt?
Hello, I bought 3 fish (2 cichlids and 1 ray) and an aquarium (90 litres) yesterday. I prepared the aquarium and put the fish inside. However there is a power shortage at the moment. The temperature of the water is fine but what can I do to increase the oxygen level?
