Looks nice and is pretty accurate. The only problem with this is that it hangs in the rim of the tank and makes it hard to place if your tank has a lid.

All internal thermometers vary in temperature display no matter what the actual temperature. Before purchasing line up at least three, the more the better. Any two with the same reading is good. Fish really don't care if the thermometer reads 69 and the actual is 68. If it's that important to you, buy one from a photographic store. Big bucks!

Reads 4 degrees too warm and moves when you take off/put on lid. It has pinned fish against the tank wall and could injure a fish if it falls to the bottom, plus it’s literally doesn’t work

It’s a little big and bulky. I wish it didn’t have the metal and it was just the thermometer but it reads temp well in tank.

I bought this a month ago and it’s read the same temperature since I bought it at the store. I took it back and got another one and the same thing happened. Don’t waste your money on this thermometer.

Will the contents of a broken thermometer be toxic to the fish tank? Do I need to do a complete overhaul?

I don't think so old ones used to have mercury in them and they were toxic but the new ones don t use mercury. if your worried do a half water change

i would cause the air above the water would be a different temp and might affect the temp reading slightly, remember fish live in water not air...

Can I use these thermometer in a 10 gallon tank with 2 baby red ear sliders and does the thermometer go inside or outside tank.

well I cant see the one you picked but with a turtle I would use the stick on kind on the outside of the tank. turtles bite things so I would not get a glass one

Does the Imagitarium Small Aquarium Thermometer contain mercury?

Thank you for your question. Thermometers no longer contain Mercury in them, unless it is specifically necessary. This product does not contain Mercury, as it contains Kerosene.
