I've been working with a trainer to make it easier to walk my dog since it became very difficult with him trying to bark aggressively to any dog he sees. He'll pull the leash a lot to try to get there and it's quite a scene.We've tried no pull harnesses, prong collars and there's no use. Trainer mentioned acquiring a halti or gentle lead to help me ease him. He was bitten by other dog when he was a puppy and that's why he's so anxious.It only happens when walking. Can you recommend a good, supportive harness for a 3 legged dog? My 14 year old border collie lost her back left leg after being hit by a truck. She still has a lot of energy and loves to go for walks but she gets tired easily. Do they have harnesses with handles to help hold her up?
My pup heels really good on the walks. Whenever she sees a dog, person, car, anything that moves, she goes crazy, she doesn't care that her collar is choking her when she pulls with all her strength, she even barks like madman. Yes she is trained, no snack distraction doesn't help. She forgets about me completely at that point. I know she's young and full of excitement but I'm quite a small person and it's really hard to hold her. Would front clip harness help to hold her? Can't afford trainer.
PULLING: Off-leash, she walks alongside me. Outside, she wears a comfortable harness(pictured). •I stop and use sit command. If I verbally praise her, she jumps right back up and back to pulling. She doesn’t do treats. If I don’t praise her, she’ll stay until I begin to walk again and she’s back to pulling (repeating steps during entire walk). •Gentle leader. She will not walk and acts too ashamed.
