Is it normal for my Robo Dwarf Hamster's black fur line to darken?

This could potentially be just a color change in the hair coat due to the change in season like you said yourself (winter coat). Some animals do develop color changes as they age as well. As long as she is acting normally and there are no changes to the skin, this is likely a normal change. If you are concerned at all, I would recommend having a veterinarian take a look at her so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made.

I'm not really sure what is going on with him but hair coats can and do change over time in dogs and cats. I don't think this has to do with any premature aging as you hinted to. I would just continue to monitor this and if it spreads or worsens, have your veterinarian evaluate him. Your vet can gather a history and perform an examination to look for causes of this. But honestly, I think this is just a small area of coat color change. Good luck

Hello. You are looking at the normal scent glands found on all hamsters. Nothing to worry about. If Gert continues to be lethargic, or develops any sneezing, coughing, or wheezing, then I would be concerned about a respiratory infection & he should see a veterinarian. This may be a normal aging change for her. As puppies lose their puppy coats the adult fur can change color and the skin pigment can darken also. If the skin looks normal with no sores I wouldn't worry about it. If she is itchy that may cause changes in the skin color. A veterinary visit is indicated if you are seeing abnormal areas on the skin.

This is good quality hamster food. He may be shedding from baby hair to adult hair, but he could also have a mixed quality of hair, especially if he is a cross between a teddy bear hamster and a shorthaired hamster.
